Aldo Ferrufino is Vice President and Director of Ports & Maritime for the US West at Jacobs, where he leads the firm’s regional ports practice — helping ports and terminals develop, modernize, and fund resilient, efficient facilities that enable their business.
A civil engineer with more than 28 years in the ports and maritime industry, Aldo built his career inside the Asia head offices of two top-tier global port operators — Hutchison Port Holdings in Hong Kong and International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) in Manila. His project portfolio spans billions of dollars in infrastructure and equipment across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, ranging from major greenfield developments to the retrofit and renewal of small and mid-size ports of all cargo types and operations.
His senior leadership experience covers every side of the industry — operator, contractor, and consultant. As Project Director and Deputy General Manager with China Harbour Engineering Company, he led marine contracting across Latin America. He then moved into consulting with Jacobs in Dubai, leading the global container ports practice as Global Ports Solutions Director, before returning to the United States to lead the firm’s West Coast ports business.
The hallmark of his practice is integration: pairing technology and infrastructure development to optimize operations with resilient solutions shaped by each port’s operational, business, funding, and engineering realities.
