This session explores how whole-of-life asset management enables ports to maximize the value, resilience, and performance of critical infrastructure from planning and design through operation, maintenance, renewal, and eventual replacement. Drawing on the lessons of the Port of Alaska Modernization Program, presenters will demonstrate how life-cycle planning, risk-based decision-making, and strategic investment can reduce long-term costs while improving reliability and operational resilience. Attendees will gain practical insights into developing sustainable asset management strategies that help Pacific ports extend infrastructure life, strengthen supply chain continuity, and better prepare for future challenges.
