Presenter Scott Grindy is the President of the Pacific Coast Congress of Harbormasters and Port Managers in addition to being the current Harbor Master for the San Francisco Marina Small Craft Harbor. In addition to these roles, he continues his appointment by California Governor Newsom as a member of the San Francisco Harbor Safety Committee and leads a work group called Bay Area Marina Operators (BAMO) with over 60 San Francisco Bay regional marinas participating in technical training, regional regulation updates and building comradeship for keeping the harbors/marinas safe. In 2014 Scott was awarded the Harbor Master of the Year for the State of California and continues to support many other regional maritime entities.

With over 30 + years of professional and practical experience in the areas of management of personnel, major capital projects, facilities management and capital and operational budgets. As a 20-year facility management and operations instructor for the State of Washington Community Colleges and University of Washington, and guest speaker for various state and federal agencies his facility operational knowledge shines out.

Scott brings a strong depth of educational knowledge from the University of Washington, Washington Community Colleges, the Federal Department Mining Academy and the US Naval Post Graduate School along with a depth of training from the Association of American Ports Associations certification programs.

His passions include boating in his 54-foot recreational trawler in San Francisco Bay and Puget Sound, exploring historic mining ghost towns in the western states, fly fishing and keeping track of his adult children and 10 grandkids two of which live here in Oahu.
